About ​Your Hosts, Gayla & Kevin Conway 

We fell in love with Maui 18 years ago when we stayed at the Kihei Akahi while working and enjoying the Maui Writers Conference. Kevin is the aspiring writer in the family. We purchased a condo here at the Kihei Akahi back in 2002. Even though we have been through some trying times while raising our two kids to college-age and weathering the downslide of the economy, we have managed to hold onto our little piece of aloha. Maui has become a true love for us and our children. We have created so many wonderful memories here in this little condo. They say Maui calls you back when you leave, and there is no doubt of that in our minds. When we step off the plane each time here we feel we are coming home.
